growth. Stretching a little beyond your capacity will increase your
capacity. If you can take care of your town or your society, there is
nothing great about doing that because it is within your
capacity or capability. But if you stretch it and little more and take
commitment to take care of the whole state, then you gain that much
more power. As much as you take on the responsibility on your self,
that much your capacity increases, your capability increases, your
talents increase, your joy increases and that much you become
one with the divine force. In whatever capacity you do something for
the society, for the environment, for the creation, that much you
progress further both materially and spiritually (value wise). The
heart opens up with a feeling that you are part of
everyone.

The hip chain

I now am in the process of owning (in a legal sense) an industrial design trademark for what goes around comes around incorporated...the old school neon rave hip chain that I created and developed to reach out to youth having trouble coping in the downtown eastside vancouver. With The Key Chain project which I kickked off in 1996 through to 2005 I spoke to over two thousand participants. Each young person made 40 key chains or one hip chain and I encouraged each one to explore their values attitudes and beliefs on the concept that what goes around comes around. I have documented what everyone had to say and am currently in a publishing deal to get this book with its powerful message out there for all to read

I just joined tribe, and i'm writing to ask for some help. I am a pro dancer, done with the usual cabaret scene, really really wanna do ethnic fusion dance. I am in Vegas now, wanted to start a dance co. mixing modern jazz with Indian/Arabic, African etc, but not much happening here. there are belly dancers and teachers, one Indian dance teacher who i'm studying classical Indian dance with, but no companies performing it, not much of a market here. Can anyone point me in the right direction? tell me of dance co.s to contact/agecies or co.s booking this type of thing? ( do i just need to move to SF!!) any help would be much appreciated, especially as i'm from London, and this country is so huge i don't know where to start!

Calling all bass freaks to the woods for a romping, stomping, dancing, chilling, swimming, hiking, learning, sharing, swinging from the trees good time!!

Raindance and family are putting together an event unlike anything we have ever done before and we invite you be a part of it. This event is in the spirit of Fun, coexistence, sustainable living, recharging your spiritual batteries, experiencing nature, and of course dancing our asses off.

This event will be held at Cutter Reservation, a 300-acre scout reservation and campground in the mountains near Big Basin Redwood Park. There is more than enough camping room for everyone, however parking is somewhat limited so please carpool as much as possible. Some of the camping spots you can drive to and some are a short hike. There are bathrooms at all the campgrounds and even a couple of showers near the pool. Amenities of this magical place include, but not limited to:

- A large Pool to swim in complete with djs for our Sat afternoon pool party.
- A small lake with access to canoes to paddle around and enjoy the beauty of it all.
- Endless hiking with many cool areas to check out.
- A healing zone with local practitioners.
- A remote (hike to) stage where you can put on your own acoustic show of any sort. (this is the perfect spot to watch the sunset!!) So if you are a musician - bring your instruments!! ?

There are a number of tents (40 or so) that are pre existing they can be used on a first come basis. They have two cots in each one, no flame is allowed in these tents.

Who I AM and What I Do with My Time

I am a self employed model, event producer/manager/publicist, and "returning" musician (tenor sax). I am currently working with a hot local up-and-coming fashion designer and preparing to set out a series of my own "press releases" and gig up on my modeling career.

This is stimulating my growing event production business, Virgin Mirage Entertainment. I am also beginning to learn massage and aromatherapy techniques in hopes of leading towards a CMT career and have started providing my services to the public. More on this some other time.

My work history is in marketing and legal services and my creative history is highly infused in entertainment, arts, and spiritual growth.

Where I'm coming from:

I've been living at my over-priced space alone for more than a year and am seeking not only change in locale, but hoping to come across persons that share the same interests.
I'll miss the view but will dig the new company.

I have a one and half year old beagle who is super affectionate, adores people and other animals and is a harmless watch dog (he'll tell you they're coming then lick 'em when they get there!).

What I am SEEKING:

I am looking for a cool space with flexibile people who are preferably more of the artist type. I am available to move anytime between now and the 15th of March and free to visit your space for interview pretty much any day until then.

IDEALLY:

I have more plants, music and books than anything else so I'm open to getting rid of the rest of my furniture to move into a sublet space.

The other option I was looking for was a warehouse or flat space with a room available to rent. It would be great if there is a backyard, but I am able to contain my small doggie to one room if it suits the needs of the roommates.

My price range is not more than $650/month and I would prefer a month to month situation but can do a year lease if necessary.

Choosing Serenity on a Daily Basis

First, if we believe that serenity is something to be found…only by the lucky ones, rather than the natural state that it is, available to each and every one of us, we will keep looking for it somewhere "out there." But, in fact, serenity is always "within," not something we win in some spiritual lottery, but something we experience to greater and lesser degrees depending upon the decisions we make. We can choose to live our days in ways that illuminate and nurture this blissful state or we can follow the well-worn path of turmoil, chaos, and conflict, hoping that we’ll stumble on serenity one day.

Secondly, if we believe that serenity is inextricably linked to "getting away from it all," we limit our expectations (and therefore our actions) of when and where we can experience inner peace. We relegate it to meditation sessions, Yoga classes, weekend retreats, or perhaps a week at the beach. Such a paradigm makes us victims of daily stress and encourages an ineffective wait-for-vacation method of refueling and rejuvenation.

So, what if we were to shift these two paradigms? What if we were to see serenity as a precious gem that twinkles within us…a treasure that we can unwrap whenever we want to for a quick lift or a luxurious basking in its brilliance? Now, that kind of thinking promotes thoughts and actions that give rise to living in serenity on a daily basis. Just imagine.

Margot Montmartre of the Lollies will be teaching burlesque classes at Lasolea Dance Studiosin the Mission on Monday nights from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.

It is a class-workshop with the right attitude in a friendly envonment amongst women of all ages, shapes and backgrounds. There is something for everyone! The class is designed to build confidence and unleash the sexy goddess you are!

I (the poster) am teaching a sculpture class at the crucible and would like you to take this course. It is Monday night at around 7p.m. until 10p.m.

You will have complete creative freedom within the guidelines of the class and the requirements of the crucible, such as you need to have welding experience. The class is a ten week course that will take you beyond any begining class and allow you to finally make that art piece you have been wanting to make. The class code is WI5-WEL9. Since our religious leaders will not speak out against the war in Iraq, since our political leaders don't have the moral courage to oppose it, Inauguration Day, Thursday, January 20th, 2005 is "Not One Damn Dime Day" in America.

On "Not One Damn Dime Day," those who oppose what is happening in our name in Iraq can speak up with a 24-hour national boycott of all forms of consumer spending.

During "Not One Damn Dime Day" please don't spend money. Not one damn dime for gasoline. Not one damn dime for necessities or for impulse purchases.

Not one damn dime for anything for 24 hours.

On "Not One Damn Dime Day," please boycott Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target, the Post Office.... Please don't go to the mall or the local convenience store. Please don't buy any fast food (or any groceries at all for that matter).

Please alert your teenagers, your children, your workplace associates. This is passive resistance at its keenest and most effective, and everyone in the U.S. can participate. Do you have the courage to make an impact on this nation?

For 24 hours, please do what you can to tell our consumer-driven economy that Americans have a message. The object is simple. Remind the people in power that the war in Iraq is immoral and illegal; that they are responsible for starting it and that it is their responsibility to stop it.

"Not One Damn Dime Day" is to remind them, too, that they work for the people of the United States of America, not for the international corporations and K Street lobbyists who represent the corporations and funnel cash into American politics.

"Not One Damn Dime Day" is about supporting the troops. Now 1,200 brave young Americans and over 100,000 Iraqi men, women, and children have died.

The politicians owe our troops a plan - an honorable way to come home.

There's no rally to attend. No marching to do. No left or right wing agenda to rant about. On "Not One Damn Dime Day" you take action by doing nothing. You open your mouth by keeping your wallet closed.

For 24 hours, nothing gets spent, not one damn dime, to remind our religious leaders and our politicians of their moral responsibility to end the war in Iraq and give America back to the people.

Accessing Inner Wisdom through Creative Expression

We've all had experiences with our innate "Inner Wisdom" such as the process of a cold coming and going in its own time, the unexpected gift of a dream (maybe a nightmare) to guide us, or the inspired solution, seemingly out of "nowhere," for the poem or business deal with which we were struggling. This "Inner Wisdom" is known by many names, including: The Unconscious, God/Goddess, Great Spirit, Primal Energy, and Divine Inspiration. The name "Inner Wisdom" has special significance because this "body intelligence" aspect of the Divine seems to always know exactly what our total being needs to evolve and heal, and how and when to manifest in the most perfect, simple, efficient, sometimes humorous, sometimes terrifying, and often eloquent ways. It's so simple, perfect and ever present, that it's often difficult to notice and acknowledge.

Inner Wisdom thrives in an atmosphere of love, patience, and acceptance. Its only impulse is to be used; so much so that when we don't appreciate it or spend quality time with its flow, it keeps presenting us with uncomfortable situations, symptoms, dreams, and images putting us on notice to slow down, listen, feel, express all the necessary prerequisites to integrate, evolve, and heal. Inner Wisdom's vehicle is through the body. Inner Wisdom and the body are the same (as are God and the Body). All we have to do is quiet the mind and allow Inner Wisdom expression through the body. Often, Inner Wisdom clearly shows up in dreams, visualizations, and visual creations depicted in the form of a mysterious animal or bird, or a face or figure with a powerful presence.

Common practices that actively invite Inner Wisdom are: Yoga, Meditation, Breath Work, Dream Work, Athletics, Chanting, Prayer, Yogic Sexual Practices, Being in Nature, Honest and Heartfelt Communication between People, and Witnessing all forms of Expressive Arts. All these experiences bring us to the body, to sensations and feeling, to Inner Wisdom, to God/Goddess, to Soul.

An especially powerful and magical form of Inner Wisdom is accessed by total immersion in the creative process, whether it be dancing, making music and sounds, sculpting or painting. The body is the only place to go; there are no words. When engaged in the creative process, you are in your Divinity and undergoing transformation as well. And the Inner Wisdom that flows during this process is intrinsically encoded in your work and body alike. You experience yourself at this moment as fully authentic, fully alive. You want more!
